New Jackie-O Motherfucker Album Due in December

As previously reported, Oregon experimental jammers Jackie-O Motherfucker will release their first full-length studio album in three years, Flags of the Sacred Harp, on ATP Recordings on December 8. According to a press release, the disc "is an epic recording documenting the group's maturing skills in writing, arranging and production, and is a timeless de-construction of American music."

01 Nice One
02 Rockaway
03 Hey! Mr. Sky
04 Spirits
05 Good Morning Kaptain
06 Loud and Mighty
07 The Louder Roared the Sea

Flags of the Sacred Harp reunites JOMF with Honey Owens (also of Nudge), who worked with the band on their 2000 album Fig. 5, which was recently reissued (along with 2001's Liberation) by ATP. Adam Forkner, guitarist for Devendra Banhart, Whiterainbow and Yume Bitsu, has also joined the fold.
The album was "re-produced" by Mark Bell, longtime Bj・k collaborator and one-half of Warp Records mainstays LFO. See, all rock/electronic mash-ups don't have to suck.
Flag of the Sacred Harp's release date is also the last day of JOMF's current tour.
