Lightning Bolt Reveal LP Name, Tracklist

As reported last month, sonic pummelers Lightning Bolt have been prepping the release of their fourth album, the follow-up to 2003's Wonderful Rainbow. When last we checked with the Rhode Island two-piece, the disc was going under the dicey title Scribblemania 2. Whether from label insistence, or a moment of clarity on the band's part, the band will now issue the record under the more familiar-sounding moniker Hypermagic Mountain.
Hypermagic Mountain features 12 new cuts, and is set for release on October 18 through the band's longtime label, Load Records. The album will be available on both CD and vinyl, and its tracklist reads like a Trebek-approved slate of pop culture references-- with such titles as "2 Morro Morro Land", "Captain Caveman", and "Riffwraith" being thrown around with total disregard for parents and our less media-obsessed significant others. We just want to know what would happen if "Magic Mountain" got in a fight with last album's "Dracula Mountain". Dracula would win, right? Anyway, the tracklist:

No live dates have yet been announced in support of the new album, but Rhode Island is small enough that we figure they'll leave eventually.
