Antony and the Johnsons Schedule New Tour

After spending several long months traveling Europe, Antony needs a vacation. Pitchfork attempted to reach him and unfortunately he was busy packing up for a much deserved visit to see his family-- but not before hitting up his hometown for a show at the Town Hall tonight.
That's right-- he lives in New York, though recent press for his Nationwide Mercury Prize nomination wouldn't suggest that. We have a very simple explanation: Antony was born in Chichester, a small town nestled in the south of England. According to the rules for nomination, the award is based on nationality, not residence. And yet Britain's finest lily-livered excuse for post-punk, the Kaiser Chiefs, cried foul. Recently, drummer Nick Hodgson of the Chiefs expressed to The Guardian that "[Antony] is an American really-- it's daft he's got in on a technicality."
Meanwhile, Antony and the Johnsons plan to release a new single, "You Are My Sister" featuring Boy George, from the gorgeous I Am a Bird Now LP on September 13. The single will also feature a couple of B-sides which have yet to be determined. In addition, the group will embark on a short North American tour in September. Antony will be traveling with a four-piece which includes himself on piano and vocals, aided by the following lineup: Maxim Moston (violin), Julia Kent (cello), Rob Moose (guitar), and Jeff Langston (bass).
